We held our father’s funeral wake at the William Cecil. Sam and the events team were lovely and helpful throughout, we managed to get the room set up exactly as we wanted it, and the ample and delicious hot and cold buffet was perfect. Thanks to all there for making the afternoon go without a hitch!

We loved our stay at this hotel. It was made special by the genuine excellent service we experienced. On arrival we had a warm greeting from Rachel and the reception staff. Asher was amazing, her customer service above and beyond. The room was well appointed with some nice extra touches . Excellent location quiet but easy walk to everything. The dinner and breakfast were very good, enjoyed all the tasty food. We will be back thank you

We had a wonderful stay at The William Cecil. Our room was great at the back of the hotel. Spotlessly clean so a big thankyou to the housekeeping staff. The bed was extremely roomy and very comfortable. We had a big powerful overhead shower. Breakfasts were super. Plenty of choice. This is the third year we have stayed here and we love it. A short walk in to the town.

We had a wonderful stay at the William Cecil a few weeks ago. The location is superb. It rained the weekend we were there and sadly Burghley House was closed but we still managed to go for a lovely walk around the estate grounds and town. The room was spacious and clean with a coffee machine and a little fridge which was a bonus. Milly’s Bistro has a great atmosphere and the breakfast was fantastic with wide selection and good coffee. The hotel staff were welcoming and went above and beyond. I left a coat at the Property and they got in touch and had it shipped to me. We will definitely be visiting again in the summer.

Great hotel for our visit to our family nearby, the hotel is within Stamford but up by Bottle Lodge of the Burleigh estate. Easy walking to the town centre and shops. The hotel has access to the Burleigh estate via a handy path. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of choices. Thanks.

I stayed for one night at The William Cecil due to a theatre visit in Stamford. Everything at the Hotel was perfect. On arrival there is ample, spacious car parking which was refreshing after experiencing limited parking at other places where I've stayed. The hotel entrance is welcoming and you are immediately aware of the character of the building. The flagstone flooring is particularly impressive. The member of staff on Reception was on it right away and directed me to my room, Room 4. The room itself was extremely spacious and more like complete suite with bedroom area, a sitting area with fireplace and two bathrooms, one with a bathtub and the other with a double shower. There were French windows leading to the garden. The room had many character features including comfortable seating, antique books and items of furniture. Other facilities included wall mounted television, refrigerator with fresh milk, a coffee maker, tea making facilities and bottled water. All of these were high quality products and similarly, in the bathroom were quality toiletry products plus plenty of soft white towels. I had an excellent night's sleep and the mattress and pillows were of high quality. In the morning, I enjoyed the breakfast provided and included in the price. The choice on offer was excellent with everything one could wish for breakfast, either cooked or buffet style continental. Checking in and out were very convenient and if I am in the area again, this will be my 'go to' choice of where to stay.

We stayed at The William Cecil to celebrate a friend's birthday. Our room was lovely and spacious with excellent tea and coffee making facilities. We also dined as a private party for the celebrations and found the food to be excellent and the accompanying wine too. Service was attentive and very good with dealing with allergies. We would like to thank Alina for the service quality. I would certainly recommend the hotel if you are staying in Stamford as it is just a short walk into town and also to Burghley House.
